The major events in the Macarthur calendar celebrate the uniqueness of the region's culture.
Key events held throughout the year include the Food, Wine and Music Festivals held each autumn and spring, Ingleburn Festival in March, the Campbelltown Challenge Walk in March, Riverfest in September, Camden Park House Open Weekend in September and the Campbelltown Steam and Machinery Museum Rallies in May and October.
Springtime is when the festivals of Macarthur really fire up.
The Camden Festival, commencing each year in September, is a two-week long showcase of a town which is rich in both heritage and adventure. The Festival features a street fair, Cinema under the Stars, Bridal Fairs, Spring picnics, Camden Kids Day and many other events.
The Festival of Fisher's Ghost in November is Campbelltown's premier event. Two weeks of family oriented activities reign supreme. Activities abound including a street parade, street fair, fireworks and fairground. Music, literature and art are all part of the cultural mix as the legend of Fisher's Ghost comes alive!
In December, the year finishes off with a bang as Campbelltown hosts the biggest New Year's Eve celebrations outside of Sydney. With a fantastic line up of entertainment, fireworks displays, food stalls and carnival rides, it is a fantastic way to farewell the year.
